It is very dry in El Paso. Apparently they get most their rain in May and June, and things green up a bit. It is so dry here that you really notice it when there is moisture. I didn't realize what a wonderful smell water was until I was out walking after I'd been here for a week, and all of a sudden I smelled water! The sprinklers in the yard had just finished, and it was the first humidity I'd come across all week!
