long overdue

Sorry it's been so long since I blogged! I brought the old camera down, and it is not compatible with Vista (which I know will just shock all you Vista users out there). And it is much more fun to write less and have pictures. I'm hoping Andy can fix the compatibility issue!

My luggage finally arrived here 4.5 days after me. My flight went Calgary, Phoenix, Vegas, and my bag decided to stay and party it up in Vegas. Sadly, US Airways had no clue where my bag was for 4 days, and I was starting to get pretty stressed about it. If they do loose your bag, you put in a claim and they refund you in 5-7 weeks. Which I thought was fabulous as I am here for 6 weeks. Anyways, they finally found my bag (which had the name tag and airline tag still intact when I got it, so not sure why it was so hard to locate) and I got it a few hours later. Hooray!

It's pretty busy here. We work 12 hours shifts (6-6). So far I've only worked days, but I have quite a few nights coming up. When I got here there were 8 students, and next week we'll be down to 4 of us, so I'll have lots of shfts. Tomorrow I have my first 24 hours shift. I've had lots of prenatal and postpartum appointments (I'm even getting good at the newborn metabolic screen!), and I've been to 8 births, and been second at 3. I have my first shift as primary midwife on Friday, hopefully there wil be a baby that night!

Andy and Molly were supposed to fly down early Sunday morning, but Saturday evening there was a blizzard in Calgary, and the plane they were leaving on the next morning was not able to land in Calgary. Their flight was cancelled, and they got rebooked on the Monday morning flight, which was great as they didn't even need to go to the airport on Sunday. Everything went well, and they arrived yesterday at 2:30. It was so nice to see them again, and Molly was happy to hang out with the with both of us again.

Here are my last Calgary pictures of Molly . She loves to play with a pair of Andy's earphones that are in his night table. She knows she's not supposed to chew on them, so she wandered over to her room once she had them!

Here she is turning on the cutitude.

Ali, Andy and Molly,

I'm so glad that everyone is now safely in El Paso. It must be great to have the family reunited again. Hope Andy's trip wasn't too difficult. Good luck on your night shifts and I hope there are some births while you're there. Stew
