hiking

I think it is ridiculous that we live so close to the mountains and hardly go out, so we bought a book of hikes suitable for kids and headed off on Friday to beat the Canada day rush.

Molly found this large rock near the trail head and wanted her picture taken.

Molly did great for about 5 minutes, and then started whining about heading back to the car. We figured we were in for a long day as we were doing a 4 km hike. But the harder the trail got, the more excited she was! Taking one of our many breaks.

Andy being brave.

The first good view.

There were some guys who had passed us, we caught up with as they were taking a bunch of pictures with the waterfall. After they left, Molly wanted her picture taken with the waterfall too.

This is where she really got into the hike!

I have no idea how she could get up these stairs so fast with her little legs.

More resting.

Woohoo! We made it to the top and got to see a couple of pretty lakes.

Here we are sitting on the rocks, near the tree line. She was happy we were climbing a "real" mountain, and not just some hills.

Carefully climbing back down.

One last shot of the lake.

We took the easier path on the way down.
