Mollyisms

Molly

Mom dancing (the big black blob on my cheek is a rain drop)

I tried calling Andy on my hands free phone in the car, but he didn't answer. Molly said, "I've got an idea that's sticking in my head. Call dad real loud!" It seemed easier to call again and turn up the volume than explain why this wouldn't work. And of course Andy picked up the phone the second time!

"I can run fast, just like a giraffe that's walking."

"Privacy means you have to be nice when you're out trick or treating."

"Dad, I have magic thinkings in me!"

"Mom, you're sitting with your legs crossed! We do that in class. You have to criss cross apple sauce." (I'm guessing that's a little rhyme the teachers say to remind them what to do.)

After telling a pathetic three year old joke, "Dad, aren't you going to laugh?"

Numbers aren't Molly strength, but apparently she can do better when we speak her language. When she was opening up her advent calendar, we'd tell her what number we needed to open that day and she'd have to find that number for us. It became a slow process when we got to the double digit numbers.
Andy "Today's the 14th, so we need to look for a 1 and a 4. You're just randomly pointing, look for the 1 and 4 together."
Molly "Here dad!"
Andy "Close, that's a 2 and a 4, that's 24. We're looking for 14, a 1 and a 4."
Molly "That's the mom to the kid."
Andy "Yes, now look for the sister."
Molly "Here, dad!"
Andy "Good work!"

I assumed she got it from me, I need to use a calculator at all times! She'll have lots of good role models for making it through life with few math skills :)
