parenting fail

Molly's first ballet class was on Tuesday. I thought I had everything under control, and had even bought her outfit a couple weeks ago. Tuesday was going well. I left work at 2:45, giving me lots of time for the 20 minute drive home, pick her up from the dayhome, come home to have a snack and head over to her 5:00 class. Except that there was a gasoline tanker that caught fire on the way home, the road was closed, and the alternate route was under major construction. So, my 20 minute drive took 1 hour and 40 mins! I got home just in time to pick up her dance clothes and head over to Gemma's to pick her up. She was quite excited!

The belt really fascinated her, I guess she hadn't seen it yet!

Showing us her ballerina moves she was going to do in class.

We left for the dance studio and got there with about 5 minutes to spare. Looking around after getting Molly's shoes on, I noticed that almost no one else was wearing the same outfit as her. I asked a teacher which studio her class was in, and it turns out it was on a different floor! We went up to the second floor. No studio. Down to the main floor. And we found it! Only to discover that every single class except the Tuesday and Wednesday little kids class started this week. Instead, we start next week.

Molly took the news very well, I did not! So on the way home we bought some flowers.

Oh Ali! That's not a parent fail, it's a "Mommy Moment"...we all have them! Just think you did a dry run this week, you are extra ready for next week. And we always take it harder than the kids I think.
