We pulled off the baseboards in the hallway two weeks before Molly was due. The edges of the floor were a disaster and we thought that if we pulled off the baseboards and put up new, wider ones it would fix the problem. As we have learned, renos are never that simple! We decided to cut our losses, pull up the laminate and put down cork. Thankfully we figured out last January was not an ideal time to start all that (or to put the baseboards back up)! We finally got around to putting in cork flooring in August, and we have slowly managed to paint and put up the baseboards since then.
The hallway shortly after we moved in

We thought the hallway would be easy to refloor as it is a small area. The five doors ways increased the skill level considerably!

Finally done 27 December 2008!

we pulled up our floors and alid hardwood & tile when Katie was 7 months old - she is now 26 months & we still don't have baseboards back up!! I commend your diligence!!
Well, it was a small area! We still want to redo the kitchen and living room, but decided to leave those baseboards up till we were more ready to take them on.
